a) Brown bread is made with caramel, which is a colouring agent for bread. There’s a chemical 4-methylimidazole found in caramel that may arise risks of cancer .

b) In the processing of bread, sugar and salt are added. These make bread have a high GI.
Therefore, brown bread is easily digested and it releases sugar, which makes it not very effective in terms of weight loss.
c) On the other side, rotis can be prepared using healthy multigrain flour without any coloring agent, which is always healthy.

Although brown bread for weight loss has replaced white bread, don’t choose them blindly.
Most brown bread brands come with refined flour that makes the bread lose many of the nutrients.
The refined flour lacks natural minerals and vitamins and most of the vital nutrients get damaged in refining, leaving behind a rich source of sugar.
Refined flour is also found to lead inflammatory diseases, chances of allergies or intolerances etc.
Moreover, the refined flour makes brown bread easily digestible, which will make you less fuller and hence you will be eating more.
Which is a no-no if you are trying to lose weight. Wheat rotis on the other hand, have complex carbs that are digested slowly and therefore keep you full for a long time.
Yeast is added to most bread brands in the market which are found to be a dehydrating agent.
And this yeast is not present in rotis. In fact, rotis have carbs, dietary fibres and proteins that are quite beneficial to health.
Although claimed to be made of whole wheat entirely, most brown bread contains maida, which is one of the reasons of considering white bread as unhealthy.
Rotis are, however, made of wheat flour entirely.
Bread preparing involves adding of preservatives. Because they are mainly found at stores, they need to be fresh for at least some ample of time.
Thus preservatives are added. However, rotis can be prepared at home without the addition of any such ingredient.
